Basketball Game Preview: Jeannette Jayhawks vs. Frazier Commodores

The Jeannette Jayhawks will head out on the road to face off against the Frazier Commodores at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jeannette has three straight victories, Frazier has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Sunday, Jeannette made easy work of Derry and carried off a 74-51 win. The Jayhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Frazier came up short against Clairton on Friday and fell 43-36.

Jeannette will have to keep a close watch on Kolby Stewart and Dailan McManus, a pair of players who had a big impact on Frazier's prior game. Stewart posted 11 points along with eight boards and four steals, while McManus had 15 points and three steals. McManus has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Brant Alekson was another key player, putting up no points in addition to 14 rebounds, four steals, and four blocks.

Jeannette pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.1 points. As for Frazier, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Everything came up roses for Jeannette against Frazier in their previous meeting on January 3rd, as the squad secured a 73-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jeannette since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
