Soccer Recap: Palatine Takes a Loss

Palatine was the 1-0 winner over Barrington when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pirates fell just short of the Fillies/Broncos by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Palatine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Barrington are ranked 47th).

Palatine's goal came courtesy of Sergio Lopez, who's now up to four this season.

Palatine dropped their record down to 5-8-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Barrington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palatine will host Conant at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Barrington, they will square off against Wheeling at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
