Oak Lawn extended their winning streak to seven on Monday, bumping their season record up to 20-11 in the process. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Reavis Rams a 7-0 shutout. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

John Olejniczak was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Olejniczak wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Justin Canvin, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Peyton Melnik was another, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

As for Reavis, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 22-10. The contest marked the first time this season in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Reavis' side, Juan Avila was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Furthermore, Avila didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April.

Oak Lawn will have a chance to go back-to-back against Reavis: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
