Volleyball Recap: Hannah Nicholson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Cobb over Pope

North Cobb lost against Pope back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Warriors fell 2-0 to the Greyhounds.

North Cobb's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hannah Nicholson, who had 12 digs and four assists. Nicholson is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played. Keagan Ruffus also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Pope's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ansley Joachim, who had seven digs and one assist. Those seven digs gave Joachim a new career-high.

North Cobb has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season. As for Pope, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

North Cobb wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Milton on the 16th. As for Pope, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against South Forsyth on the 16th.
