Newport won the last time they faced Bellevue and things went their way  on Wednesday too. The Newport Wildcats blew past the Bellevue Tigers 69-43. Given the Wildcats' advantage  in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th in Kentucky, while the Tigers are ranked 253rd in Kentucky), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Newport's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Amontae Lowe, who  went 5-for-7  to rack up 14  points. The team also got some help courtesy of  James Turner, who  posted eight points in addition to six  boards and four  steals.
Newport has  been performing  well recently as they've  won 12 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record  this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 63.4 points over those games. Bellevue has  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-20 record  this season.
 Newport will take on Highlands at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Newport has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 204 points over their last three games. Bellevue does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
