Basketball Recap: Cambridge-Isanti Comes Up Short

Cambridge-Isanti was the 80-44 winner over St. Francis when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets fell to the St. Francis Fighting Saints 78-74. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (66), the Bluejackets still had to take the loss.

Cambridge-Isanti dropped their record down to 7-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for St. Francis, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cambridge-Isanti will welcome North Branch at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cambridge-Isanti knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully North Branch likes a good challenge. As for St. Francis, they will be playing at home against Big Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Francis is facing Big Lake at the right time seeing as Big Lake is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
