Soccer Game Preview: Port Angeles vs. Bainbridge

Port Angeles is 0-5 against Bainbridge since April of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Roughriders will square off against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Port Angeles sitting on four straight victories and Bainbridge on ten.

If Port Angeles beats Bainbridge with four goals on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Roughriders came out on top against Kingston by a score of 4-2 on Friday. Given Port Angeles' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Kingston are ranked 232nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Bainbridge made easy work of North Kitsap on Friday and carried off a 4-1 win. Fans of Bainbridge have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 3+ goals.

Port Angeles' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four contests. As for Bainbridge, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.

Port Angeles suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Bainbridge in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Roughriders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
