Volleyball Game Preview: Carson Senators vs. Galena Grizzlies

After both having extra time off, the Carson Senators and the Galena Grizzlies will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Carson is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Bishop Manogue, who was ranked fourth at the time (Carson was ranked 11th). The Senators fell 3-1 to the Miners last Thursday. The Senators have struggled against the Miners recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Kellyn Moyle put forth a good effort for the losing side as she had eight digs and four aces.

Meanwhile, Galena suffered their biggest defeat since August 26th last Tuesday. They came up short against Bishop Manogue, falling 3-0. Considering the last time the Grizzlies couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-17, 25-16.

Carson's loss dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Galena, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Carson was able to grind out a solid win over Galena when the teams last played back in September, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Senators since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
