Basketball Game Preview: Marshwood Hawks vs. Falmouth Navigators

Marshwood is 1-9 against Falmouth since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Marshwood Hawks will take on the Falmouth Navigators at 7:00 p.m. Falmouth took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Marshwood, who comes in off a win.

While Marshwood didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 44-32 win over Biddeford on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Meanwhile, Falmouth is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Alvirne. Falmouth took a 53-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alvirne. The Navigators' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Falmouth's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. As for Marshwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Marshwood and Falmouth were neck-and-neck when the teams last played two weeks ago, but Marshwood came up empty-handed after a 44-43 defeat. Can Marshwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
