Football Recap: DeKalb Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact DeKalb can now relate to. They took a 48-32 bruising from the Stewartsville Cardinals on Friday. The loss leaves the Tigers still looking for their first win of the season.

Cooper Wachtel threw for 142 yards and two touchdowns. Nolan Huffman was his top target, picking up 64 receiving yards and one TD. On the ground, Kyle Funk rushed for 112 yards and three scores on only 12 carries.

DeKalb's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Stewartsville, their victory bumped their record up to 2-8.

DeKalb does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stewartsville, they will square off against Bishop LeBlond at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests.
