Volleyball Recap: Ocosta Wildcats vs. Willapa Valley Vikings
Ocosta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Willapa Valley Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 22-25, 25-22, 25-13.
Isabella Pratt paced Ocosta's offense, picking up six kills. Pratt got some help from Ava Tucker and her eight assists. Pratt was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Tylar Keeton was a one-woman wrecking crew For Willapa Valley. as she had 20 kills, three blocks, and three aces. Keeton is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 12 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Matlock, who had 38 assists.
Ocosta's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Willapa Valley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-4.
Coincidentally, Ocosta and Willapa Valley will both be playing Taholah the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Chitwhins at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Vikings will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
