Basketball Game Preview: LaVergne Wolverines vs. Wilson Central Wildcats

LaVergne is 0-4 against Wilson Central since December of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The LaVergne Wolverines will host the Wilson Central Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.

Last Friday, LaVergne lost to Stewarts Creek on the road by a 59-40 margin. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Red Hawks are ranked 61st).

Meanwhile, Wilson Central posted their biggest win since December 21, 2024 on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 57-28 victory over Smyrna. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Wilson Central found their leader in sophomore Brylee Fly, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 boards gave Fly a new career-high. Kylie Moss was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.

Wilson Central's victory bumped their record up to 11-14. As for LaVergne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-16.
