Recap: Coleville Wolves vs. Whittell Warriors
The Coleville Wolves can finally bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They really took it to Whittell for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-16 victory at home. Coleville's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Coleville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Yosu Gutierrez led the charge by scoring ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cyrus Childs, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Coleville's win bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Whittell, they bumped their record down to 1-11 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Coleville will face off against Excel Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Whittell, they will be playing at home against Sage Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Sage Ridge is ranked 103rd, while Whittell is ranked 115th).
