The Gulf Breeze Dolphins have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a serious blow against Northview Academy on Friday, falling 61-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Gulf Breeze has scored all season.
They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Jayah Jones and
Lila Jacobs, who each put up seven points. Jacobs also led the team in assists with two. She held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.
Gulf Breeze has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-4 record this season. As for Northview Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Gulf Breeze and Pensacola will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Northview Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fulton at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
