Football Recap: Lake Braddock Bruins vs. South County Stallions

After flying high against West Potomac last Friday, Lake Braddock came back down to earth. The Bruins and the South County Stallions were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Bruins suffered a 23-22 loss. The contest marked the Bruins' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Lake Braddock's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samuel Rhye, who rushed for 161 yards and one TD. Another signal caller making a difference was Tyrone Jackson, who threw for 183 yards and one touchdown.

A big part of South County's victory came down to the chemistry between Dylan Miller and his top target Thomas Powell. Miller threw for 276 yards and a pair of TDs while Powell picked up 144 receiving yards and a pair of scores. A healthy portion of Miller's aerial production (92 yards to be exact) also went to Trevion Campbell.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lake Braddock fell to 7-1. As for South County, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
