The Dade Christian Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the South Miami Cobras at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dade Christian will be strutting in after a win while South Miami will be coming in after a loss.
Dade Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Schoolhouse Prep 18-3. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.
Alexander Mendoza Jr made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has become a key player for Dade Christian: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 3-6 otherwise. Mendoza Jr was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.

Dade Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, South Miami came up short against Braddock on Tuesday and fell 5-1. The Cobras haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Dade Christian pushed their record up to 5-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for South Miami, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3-1.
Dade Christian skirted past South Miami 8-7 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will Dade Christian repeat their success, or does South Miami have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
