Basketball Game Preview: Kingwood Mustangs vs. North Shore Mustangs

The Kingwood Mustangs will square off against the North Shore Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kingwood has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Kingwood turned things around against Goose Creek Memorial on Wednesday. They walked away with a 57-49 win over the Patriots. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Patriots are ranked 569th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, North Shore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost to Humble at home by a 72-56 margin.

Kingwood's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-11. As for North Shore, they now have a losing record at 13-14.

Kingwood came up short against North Shore in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 39-29. Can Kingwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
