Basketball Recap: Edgewood Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Savannah Wood and Jadah Townsend

It was a proper cat-fight when Edgewood Academy duked it out with Southern Academy on Friday. The Wildcats came up short against the Cougars, falling 67-41. The Wildcats' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Jadah Townsend and Savannah Wood certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Townsend posted 19 points along with eight assists and four steals, while Wood shot 47% from the field on her way to 20 points and five boards. That was a full 46.3% of Edgewood Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row Townsend has put up more than a third of the team's points.

Edgewood Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Southern Academy, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Edgewood Academy has already played their next game, a 65-42 loss against Abbeville Christian Academy on the 24th. As for Southern Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hooper Academy at 4:00 p.m. on December 18.
