Preview: Michigan Lutheran Titans vs. Covert Bulldogs
Michigan Lutheran is 10-0 against Covert since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Michigan Lutheran Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Covert Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Michigan Lutheran will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Michigan Lutheran stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 82-30 win over River Valley on the road. Michigan Lutheran's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Michigan Lutheran found their leader in underclassman Connor Olson, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Herbst, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Covert suffered a rough 64-41 defeat at the hands of Howardsville Christian on Tuesday. Covert has not had much luck with Howardsville Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Michigan Lutheran has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Covert, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Michigan Lutheran against Covert when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 69-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Michigan Lutheran since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
