Softball Game Preview: Crestline Bulldogs vs. Central Christian Comets

The Crestline Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Central Christian Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Crestline is looking for their season's first win.

Crestline managed to slip by Lucas the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bulldogs lost 14-1 to the Cubs on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Central Christian might've scored the first runs on Monday, but it was Rittman who claimed the real prize. The Comets fell 9-5 to the Indians.

Micah Kozel Steiner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Edisa Plants was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Crestline's record is now 0-6. As for Central Christian, their record now sits at 1-1.

Crestline took their victory against Central Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 28-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
