Volleyball Recap: Odessa Takes a Loss

If Odessa was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mexia on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bronchos came up short against the China Spring Cougars on Friday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bronchos have suffered since October 22, 2024.

While Odessa was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by exactly two points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 27-25, 25-23.

Odessa has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for China Spring, they pushed their record up to 13-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Odessa will be taking part in a tournament against McGregor at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. China Spring will be paying especially close attention to the Bronchos' match: after the Bronchos face off against the Bulldogs, they'll take on China Spring again at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
