Recap: Rangely Panthers vs. Manila Mustangs
The Rangely Panthers are ranked highly in their home state, and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Manila Mustangs. Rangely walked away with a 49-41 win over Manila. That's another feather in the cap for Rangely, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Miah Wren was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 23 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Addison Scott was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Rangely pushed their record up to 1-0 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.9 points per game. As for Manila, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1.
Coincidentally, Rangely and Manila will both be playing American Heritage the next time they take the court. Manila will head out to face American Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Rangely will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
