Softball Recap: Riverside Falls Short Against Ranked Boardman

Riverside faced Boardman in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Beavers took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Beavers were not able to get on the board.

With the loss, Riverside broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 25-5. As for Boardman, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record this season.

Riverside and Boardman are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Beavers will take on Perry at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Riverside surely won't give up without a fight. As for Boardman, they will square off against Springfield at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
