Basketball Recap: John Battle Comes Up Short

John Battle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gate City Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-48 back in January.

John Battle's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Gate City, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-11.

John Battle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gate City, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hampton at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
