Baseball Preview: Chinle Wildcats vs. Page Sand Devils
The Chinle Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Page Sand Devils at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chinle is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
In what's become a running theme this season, Chinle gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Monument Valley as Chinle made off with a 12-2 victory.
Morgan Mitchell made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Mitchell has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances. Mitchell was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other pitching news, Hage Tsosie looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned run off two hits (he also didn't allow any walks).
Back at the plate, Koen Kee was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, a triple, and an RBI. Brandon Begay was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

The win got Chinle back to even at 7-7. As for Page, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.
Chinle came up short against Page when the teams last played back in April of 2023, falling 4-1.
