Softball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for Hartford

While Hartford's victory against Bellows Falls wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hurricanes never let the Terriers get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hurricanes have posted since May 20, 2024.

Serenitee Martel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Sylvia Johnson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Hartford's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bellows Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
