Softball Recap: Cherokee Indians vs. Covenant Christian Eagles

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cherokee). They blew past the Covenant Christian Eagles 15-5 on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Libby Collum was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, A'Kaiya Spencer was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 4-for-4. Lydia Wallace was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Cherokee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
