Volleyball Recap: Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy Comes Up Short

Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Challenger Firebirds. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Firebirds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

While Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Challenger's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-15, 25-21.

Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Challenger, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Community Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 25th. Meanwhile, Challenger will square off against rival Veritas Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
