Basketball Recap: May River Takes a Loss

After flying high against Colleton County last Tuesday, May River came back down to earth. The May River Sharks took a blow against the Bishop England Battling Bishops on Friday, falling 64-37. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sharks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-30 back in January.

May River lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Elizabeth Duncan, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Macy, who scored seven points and eight boards.

May River dropped their record down to 8-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Bishop England, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

May River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 26-24 loss against Hilton Head Island on the 4th. Bishop England has also already played their next game, a 72-44 victory against Beaufort on the 4th.
