Soccer Game Preview: Lone Star vs. Lovejoy

The Lone Star Rangers will face off against the Lovejoy Leopards on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Lone Star is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Memorial a 3-0 shutout.

Lone Star hit Memorial with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Allison Gonzales, BraqElle Raisey, and Kenzie Hertel.

Meanwhile, Lovejoy waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 6-0 victory. Considering Lovejoy have won 13 contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Lovejoy's win bumped their record up to 19-1-1. As for Lone Star, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4-3.

Lone Star was able to grind out a solid win over Lovejoy when the teams last played back in January of 2023, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lone Star since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
