Baseball Game Preview: Edison Tigers vs. McLane Highlanders

The Edison Tigers will face off against the McLane Highlanders at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Edison nor Justin Garza made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Tigers fell just short of the Guardians by a score of 4-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Guardians: they've now lost three in a row.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when McLane and Torres meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Highlanders fell just short of the Toros by a score of 6-4.

McLane saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leland Flores, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Edison's loss dropped their record down to 6-17-1. As for McLane, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-15 record this season.
