Platt RVT hadn't done well against Bullard-Havens recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Panthers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tigers 51-14. Considering the Panthers have won three contests by more than 35 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Caleb Brickhouse continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 305 yards and three scores on only 15 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 91-yard run. Maddux Vargas was another key player, rushing for 67 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Platt RVT was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 483 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 296 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Platt RVT's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Bullard-Havens, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Platt RVT will welcome Nonnewaug/Lakeview/Shepaug Valley at 6:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Bullard-Havens, after each having a week off, they and O'Brien RVT will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
