            Softball Recap: Sanger Apaches vs. Madera Coyotes        
        
		
        
        
            Sanger took a seven-run  defeat the last time they faced off against Madera, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Apaches never let the Coyotes get on the board and left with  a   2-0  victory  on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Apaches have posted  since March 18th.
Not much got past  Amber Estrada, who gave up just  four  hits to keep Madera off the board.

 At the plate, Sanger's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Emma Hernandez, who  went 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases and two  runs. Hernandez has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times she's  played.
Sanger is  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Madera, their  loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 15-7.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sanger will  face off against  rival Bullard  at 3:30  p.m.  on Monday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Apaches 1.8, the Knights 3.3) so any  runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Madera is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Edison  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
