Softball Recap: Clarksburg Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Clarksburg was the 8-5 winner over McKenzie when they last played one another on Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Clarksburg Rockets lost 9-2 to the McKenzie Rebels on Monday.

Alyssa Belew made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

Clarksburg's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 10.75 hits in those games compared to only two in the others. As for McKenzie, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clarksburg will challenge Hughes at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McKenzie, they will square off against McEwen at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. McEwen will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something McKenzie surely won't give up without a fight.
