Meanwhile, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy got the win against Hampton Roads Academy on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Saints.
Nansemond-Suffolk Academy never let Hampton Roads Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-17, 25-17.
Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Steward, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Steward has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 12.8 aces per game. However, it's not like Nansemond-Suffolk Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
