Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Nery Paredes and Ethan Miranda Lead Intrinsic to Victory

Intrinsic had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against Spry Community Links by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Intrinsic easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-19.

Intrinsic was led to victory by Ethan Miranda and Nery Paredes. Miranda had 17 digs and two aces, while Paredes had 13 digs and two aces. Miranda is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 12 or more in each of the last six games he's played.

They weren't the only good server: Intrinsic was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in nine consecutive matchups.

Intrinsic's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Spry Community Links, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Intrinsic is set to square off against their familiar foe Clemente at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Spry Community Links will challenge rival Wells at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
