Basketball Recap: Windermere Prep Beats Horizon for Their Third Straight Win

Windermere Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Horizon Hawks by a score of 58-50. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 61-56 back in December of 2024.

Horizon lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Zoe Corjay, who posted 15 points and four steals. Corjay's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Amaya Mitchell, who had 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Windermere Prep has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Horizon, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Windermere Prep will head out to face off against Cardinal Mooney at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cardinal Mooney is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.5 points per game this season. As for Horizon, they will square off against Wekiva at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Horizon also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 61.9 points per game.
