Basketball Game Preview: Montgomery Vikings vs. Redwood Giants

The Montgomery Vikings will square off against the Redwood Giants at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Montgomery sitting on six straight wins and Redwood on eight.

If Montgomery beats Redwood with 52 points on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Montgomery came out on top against Windsor by a score of 52-44 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Redwood didn't have too much trouble with Terra Linda on Friday as they won 62-43.

Redwood pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Montgomery, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Montgomery was able to grind out a solid win over Redwood in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 64-51. Will Montgomery repeat their success, or does Redwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
