Baseball Recap: Calumet New Tech Takes a Loss

Calumet New Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Whiting Oilers, falling 16-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 15-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Aiden Stevens was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ethan Boyd, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Calumet New Tech's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Whiting, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-6.

Calumet New Tech has already played their next match, a 16-3 defeat against Hammond Academy of Science & Tech on the 22nd. As for Whiting, they will take on Calumet Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.38 runs per game on average), something the Oilers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
