Soccer Game Preview: International Community vs. Geneva

The International Community Comets will head out on the road to face off against the Geneva Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

International Community is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Cornerstone Charter Academy on Thursday. They lost 9-1 to the Ducks. The loss continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Ducks: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Geneva hasn't lost a match since November 5th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Lake Howell. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Silverhawks are ranked 282nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Geneva hit Lake Howell with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Elisabet Rosario, Camila Cabito, and Maggie Trifone.

Geneva's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1-2. As for International Community, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

International Community suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Geneva in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. Can International Community avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
