Basketball Game Preview: Howard Tigers vs. Colman-Egan C-E Hawks

Howard is a perfect 6-0 against Colman-Egan since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Howard Tigers will take on the Colman-Egan C-E Hawks at 7:15 p.m. Howard will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Howard strolled past Irene/Wakonda with points to spare, taking the game 60-44. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Eagles are ranked 91st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Colman-Egan was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 66-62 to Estelline/Hendricks. The C-E Hawks have struggled against Estelline/Hendricks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Howard's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Colman-Egan, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

Everything came up roses for Howard against Colman-Egan when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 70-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Howard since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
