Softball Recap: Portland Christian Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Portland Christian's offense. They came up short against the DuPont Manual Crimsons on Tuesday, falling 14-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Crimsons: they've now lost nine in a row.

Portland Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Gish, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Portland Christian now has a losing record of 8-9. As for DuPont Manual, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Portland Christian will host Christian Academy-Louisville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are facing the Centurions at the right time seeing as the Centurions are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for DuPont Manual, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Oldham at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Dragons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.21 runs per game on average), something the Crimsons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
