Basketball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

After flying high against Scott Central last Thursday, Newton came back down to earth. The Newton Tigers were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 45-44 to the Bay Springs Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 46-37 loss back in January.

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Bay Springs, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Newton nor Bay Springs have any future games scheduled.
