Softball Recap: Avery Comes Up Short

Avery was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 17-6 to the Bloomburg Wildcats. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Avery saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reyna Baird, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Another was Madison Dawson, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Avery's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Bloomburg, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Avery will welcome De Kalb at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bloomburg, they will look to defend their home field on March 21st against Union Hill at 6:00 p.m.
