Baseball Recap: East Juniata Comes Up Short

East Juniata had lost five straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 3-10 to make it six. They lost 13-0 to the Halifax Wildcats. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Halifax, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 11-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games.

For Halifax's part, the team relied heavily on Dayton Bittner, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave Bittner a new career-high. Matt Kocher also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Juniata will host Greenwood at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Halifax, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tri-Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
