Softball Game Preview: Brazosport Exporters vs. El Campo Ricebirds

Brazosport hasn't had much luck against El Campo recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Exporters will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ricebirds at 5:30 p.m. El Campo took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Brazosport, who comes in off a win.

While Brazosport's victory against Sweeny wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Exporters narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bulldogs 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Exporters have posted since February 15th.

Meanwhile, El Campo has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.78 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They came up short against Columbia, falling 10-2. The loss continues a trend for the Ricebirds in their meetings with the Roughnecks: they've now lost five in a row.

El Campo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kamryn Mears, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

El Campo's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6-1. As for Brazosport, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
