Recap: Lewis-Palmer Rangers vs. Pueblo Central Wildcats

After a string of four wins, The Lewis-Palmer Rangers''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 29-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pueblo Central. Lewis-Palmer lost against Pueblo Central in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 39-8 score last time.

Jayden Pagano and Kenton Kenley, Lewis-Palmer certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Pagano rushed for 90 yards and three touchdowns, while Kenley threw for 87 yards on nine of 17 attempts.

Pueblo Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amari Brown led the charge by rushing for 171 yards while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Michael Montoya was in the mix as well, providing Pueblo Central with two touchdowns.

Lewis-Palmer's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Pueblo Central, the win was the fifth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lewis-Palmer will challenge Sierra at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pueblo Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Harrison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Harrison: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Pueblo Central has snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
