Basketball Recap: Roane County Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Roane County had won four straight road games and Aaron Layne did his part to make it five on Friday. The Roane County Yellowjackets strolled past the Loudon Redskins with points to spare, taking the game 72-58 thanks in part to Layne, who dropped a double-double on 38 points and 13 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game.

Roane County is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. As for Loudon, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

The future could be bright for both Roane County and Loudon: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Roane County will try to hand Lenoir City their tenth-straight loss when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Loudon will try to hand Sweetwater their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
