Football Recap: Bethune-Bowman Mohawks vs. Cross Trojans

Friday just wasn't the day for Bethune-Bowman's offense. They were dealt a 52-0 defeat at the hands of the Cross Trojans on Friday. The Mohawks lost against the Trojans in their previous head to head back in October of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 36-14 score last time.

Cross got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Harris out in front who threw for 126 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. Karmello Jones helped Harris out on the ground, rushing for 40 yards and a touchdown, while also catching a touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for Bethune-Bowman and nudges their season record down to 1-9. As for Cross, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Bethune-Bowman will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bamberg-Ehrhardt at 7:30 p.m. on November 15th. Bamberg-Ehrhardt is coming into the contest with three straight victories at home, so Bethune-Bowman will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Cross, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 36-0 win against Baptist Hill on the 1st.
