Baseball Recap: Norton Comes Up Short

Norton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Medfield Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 back in April.

Norton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mike Salvatti, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Pace Ribeiro also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Norton's record now sits at 5-12. As for Medfield, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8.

Looking ahead, Norton will head out on the road to take on Medway at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Medfield, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Norwood at 4:30 p.m. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
